“Girl you are glowing!” “Look at that pregnancy glow!” If you’re pregnant and have heard of people having “the glow” while they are pregnant and you want it too, I got you! In today’s blog, I’ll be sharing with you my morning skincare routine that I use during pregnancy.

My skin type
Before we take a deep dive into this skincare routine, I want to talk about my skin for a quick second. So, I normally have dry, combination skin, but when I’m pregnant it seems like my skin gets even more dry and oily around my t-zones. I wanted to share with you my skin type, so you’ll be able to decide if our skin is similar and if the products that I love and mention in this blog post will actually help your skin.
Pregnancy Safe Skincare Products I use every day in my morning routine:
Cleanser
– First things first, I always start with cleansing my face in the morning. If I did my nighttime skincare routine, like I should have, then I only cleanse my face with the DHC oil cleanser. If I’m honest with you sometimes I forget to wash my face at night, so that’s when I’ll cleanse it with a deeper cleanser. That’s when I usually use Youth to the People Superfood cleanser in my pregnancy morning skincare routine.
Toner
I don’t know about you, but during pregnancy, I have to make sure I have hydrating products in my skincare routine. If you aren’t aware, your skin can change a lot when you become pregnant. Mine always becomes very dry. With that being said it’s crucial for me to have a toner that brings the hydration back into my skin after I cleanse it.
The first toner I use is the rose water facial mist. I use this toner to remove any dirt that my cleanser may have missed. It helps to bring some hydration back into my skin. Now for my girls who really want to hydrate your skin after cleansing, you need the Laneige Cream Skin Toner. Oh my goodness. This stuff will have your skin feeling hydrated and moisturized all in one.
Moisturizer
My favorite moisturizer to use in the morning is the Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Hydration Cream. Honey, I am on my second bottle of this and it will forever be a staple in my skincare routine. I was so happy when I found out that I could continue to use this during my pregnancy!
This moisturizer is PACKED with hydration, which is just what my skin needs during pregnancy. It also contains Vitamin C in it which is great for evening skin tone and giving your skin that glow that you want.
SPF
Now for the most important step in my morning skincare routine for pregnancy, SPF. Yes, sunscreen! If you didn’t know, during pregnancy you could have “the mask of pregnancy” or melasma. This is when your skin starts to develop dark spots or blotchy patches. A way to combat getting this is by wearing sunscreen. (Even though you should be wearing sunscreen, even if you’re not pregnant!)
My two go-to sunscreens right now are the Invisible Daily Defense Hydrating Serum by Neutrogena and Supergoop’s Glowscreen. The one by Neutrogena is SPF 60 and I mainly wear that if I’m going to be wearing makeup that day. Glowscreen is SPF 40 and I love to wear it when I don’t wear makeup because it gives me this beautiful glow and it honestly makes me look like I have makeup on.
Optional skincare products:
The next few products in my pregnancy morning skincare routine are OPTIONAL. Not everyone will need these, but I love them!
Serum
I mainly use all my serums in my night skincare routine, but there is one that I will continue to use in the morning (especially before my makeup). Polyglutamic acid is a game changer for dry or combination skin. I discovered it while living in Las Vegas and my skin was extremely dry because of the environment. When I became pregnant, I knew I was going to incorporate this back into my morning routine.
Conclusion
Okay, I gave you the whole run-through of the skincare routine I do for my glowing skin during pregnancy. Let me know if this works for you too!!
