Hey! Hey! Hey! I’m so excited for you to read this blog post because I will be taking you through my review of the Wakati Hair collection. First, a little background on the brand. In Swahili, the word wakati means time. On their website they state, “Wakati represents a respect for where your hair has been and an optimism for all the places you want it to go.” I love this because I have to much respect for my hair journey. From getting my hair relaxed until I decided to go natural in 2014. To limiting the amount of heat I put in my hair and rocking my natural curls. To postpartum shedding. Now my hair is flourishing and healthy and I’m so excited for the rest of the journey!
Now to the review. The Wakati Hair collection comes with 4 products: a shampoo, conditioner, conditioning mist, and cream. I will take you through my thoughts on each of these products in the order in which I used them during my wash day. You ready? Let’s go!
*This is a sponsored post, BUT all opinions are my own!
Sulfate Free Shampoo
I have a love hate relationship with shampoos. Why? Because I love that it cleanses my scalp, but hate when they leave my hair feeling stripped. I can honestly say that the Wakati Hair shampoo DID NOT leave my hair feeling stripped at all. It cleansed my scalp and gently removed the product off my hair. I could feel the moisture starting to enter my hair strands as well. I also love a shampoo with a good lather and this one did. Is it just me, or when you see your scalp lathering it makes it look like the shampoo is actually doing something? Haha.
Water Activated Advanced Conditioner
On the bottle, it says to use leave this conditioner in for at least 5 minutes, but I chose to keep it in for about 20. I did this because I wanted it to act like a deep conditioner. After I rinsed the shampoo out of my hair, I applied the Wakati conditioner and OH MY GOODNESS. The slip that this conditioner has is GLORIOUS!! I personally think that a good conditioner has to have slip because it allows the hair to get softer and it makes it easier to detangle. This conditioner did just that! It made my hair so easy to finger detangle, which I loved.
In the name of the conditioner is says, water activated and I didn’t understand what that meant until I washed the conditioner out. As soon as the water hit the conditioner in my hair, my hair became EVEN SOFTER. It felt amazing! The Wakati water activated conditioner is definitely one of my favorite conditioners hands down. It comes in an 8 oz and a 16.9oz, y’all invest in that bigger bottle you won’t regret it.
Re-activating Conditioning Mist
The third product I used was the Wakati hair re-activating conditioning mist. I used this as a leave in conditioner. My hair loved this product because it instantly made my have soft and easy to detangle. I also REALLY love this spray bottle because it has a little button by the spray nozzle that you can press to unlock or lock the spray nozzle. That way when I went to pack the spray bottle it wasn’t spray my stuff in my suitcase by mistake. I loved that. It’s the little things that make a huge difference.
Oil – Infused Cream
The final product I used from the Wakati Hair collection is their oil-infused cream. I was excited about this cream because my hair LOVES creams. Creams and butter keep my hair moisturized for days. When I applied this cream to my hair to style it for my twists, my hair instantly clumped up. That meant that absorbed the product and the moisture from the product. That is the clue I look for to make sure that the product doesn’t just sit on top of my hair.
Final thoughts:
Okay now it’s time for my final thought on the Wakati Hair collection. First of all, the results of the twistout using their products were amazing. My hair was so soft, moisturized and it had a beautiful shine to it. From those results I knew that the products did why they actually claimed they would do. This line claims that since it contains jojoba and shea oils that it will
